Beginners and Intermediates

Please Sign Me Up for the September Piano Retreat at Walker Creek Ranch in Marin County, California.

I understand this event will span the three day period from Sept 6, 7, and 8th. I will be able to bring my piano or keyboard and learn from the lectures, clinics, break out sections, faculty concerts, open mics, and the optional Master Class.*

There are four options for accommodations. I understand that each package includes access to all sessions, all use of the conference facilities, five delicious and nutritious meals, and (except for Option One) two nights of accommodations.

Loved it. Thanks for everything. Staff was extremely giving and enthusiastic to help. More than anything else, I got INSPIRATION. This is possible to learn. Party was great! Tons of fun!

This was my second Piano Retreat, and I was as impressed this time as I was last year. The setting was beautiful, the food was great, but most of all the learning experience far exceeds the standard old-school "piano lessons." The classes were intense, challenging and FUN. Robert, Ken and Pam are extremely talented musicians, and have a unique system for passing on their knowledge and talent to anyone who has the desire to learn how to play the piano. See you at the third annual retreat!

Just wanted to let you know that I've come home newly inspired. I had been quietly hiding in (my) band before but am now my new brave self. Pam, I particularly appreciated your encouragement and enthusiasm. I realized this morning that I'm a "new" player. It was also wonderful hanging out with other piano enthusiasts. I was inspired to reach some of their levels and happy to show the beginners some of my skills. I hope to see them all next year. Thanks for it all.

Wait! A Couple More Options

Master Class Upgrade
Once again there is an option for a Master Class on Sunday afternoon. If you elect to be a Master Class student (and you are one of the four who is selected for such), you will get a private lesson from both Robert and Ken. It will be custom tailored to your wants and needs as a developing piano student.

The instructors will evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and give you a prescription that will be just for you.

Or for a reduced cost you may attend the Master Class sessions as an observer only. You will have full access to the teaching sessions, and will be able to ask questions as time allows.

We must limit the Master Class to four 30 minute sessions. Just four students. We urge you to sign up to be a student, and if we get more than four enrollees, we will select just four of you on a random lottery basis.

If you apply and don't get selected, you have the option of just being an observer (half the cost of the student rate) or you may elect to take a full refund of the upgrade and not attend.

The cost of the session, either as a selected student or as an observer, will include another lunch on Sunday.

Option One: Master Class Participant

I will get my own 30 minute "private" lesson from Robert or Ken or both. The instructors will have a chance to evaluate my playing, offer prescriptive strategies for improvement. I will be able to ask any questions I want. This lesson is all about me. But the "Observers" will have a chance to eavesdrop on my lesson and ask questions about it after. I understand there are only four slots available for this and if more than four people sign up, the final participants will be chosen by lottery a few weeks before the retreat starts. If you enroll now, we will charge your credit card $60. If you are not selected to be one of the four participants, we will notify you and give you the option of either a full refund of your $60 or a $30 refund and you can attend the master class as an observer.

*Once again the Kawai Piano company will be providing us with a limited number of pianos. If you cannot bring your own piano or keyboard, there will be some extras available, but we cannot guarantee there will be an extra piano available for everyone at all times. We'll do our best.
