Mood: Swing takes great pleasure in recreating the sounds of the 1920's through the 1940's. They explore this musical time period on three continents. Simultaneous with the development of North American jazz as played by Ellington, Basie, Armstrong, et.al., Europe was defining jazz its own way with the likes of gypsy jazz guitar phenomena Django Reinhardt and Stefane Grappelli. Meanwhile Brazil was experiencing its own Renaissance with the explosion of a pre-Samba street music called choro. Mood: Swing dedicates itself to the faithful recreation of the music of that great era, using guitar, clarinet, piano, and often guest instrumentalists.
